HOURS

9:00 – 1:00    Monday – Friday

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL

If you arrive prior to 9:00, please wait in the lobby with your child while the teachers can prepare for the day.  At 9:00, parents walk their children to the classroom so that teachers can greet children and parents individually.  Please make your arrival routine short and sweet.  Teachers need to give their full attention to the children.  If you need to have a lengthy conversation with your child’s teacher, please schedule a conference.

Please pick your child up from school between 12:45 and 1:00 (toddlers between 12:15 and 12:30).  Wait in the lobby and your child will come to you.  There is a late pick up charge of $1 per minute.  If you are going to be late, please notify the school so we can reassure your child.  If anyone other than the parent will be picking up your child, please notify the school in writing or by phone ahead of time.  They will need to show a photo ID for verification before we release your child.

SNACKS AND LUNCHES

AsheBridge Children’s Academy provides a morning snack with 100% fruit juice.  Non-microwavable lunches should be sent from home each day and include a beverage and, if necessary, a reusable ice pack.  Please send only a healthy selection of food that your child can self-feed.  Candy and unhealthy snacks will be returned home.  We encourage the use of proper table manners and ask that children attempt to clean up after themselves.

“Junk” food will only be served during special celebrations, such as a holiday party.  All foods to be shared with the class must be peanut-free and contained in the original sealed store/bakery packaging.  We are not allowed to serve homemade food or treats.

PARENT PARTICIPATION & OPEN DOOR POLICY

Parent volunteers and participation are welcome at AsheBridge Children’s Academy!  Just speak with your child’s teacher about how you would like to help and find out what time(s) would be best.

MEDICATIONS

We do not administer any medication to children, whether over the counter or prescribed by a physician.  If your child requires medication, please speak with your physician about scheduling doses outside of school hours.

If your child requires emergency medication for conditions such as diabetes, asthma, or severe allergic reactions, please speak with the director.  An authorization form will need to be filled out, and depending on your child’s condition, an action plan developed with your child’s physician may also be required.

Diaper rash cream will be applied at your request. A signed authorization form is required prior to use.

ILLNESS

If your child has any of the following, please stay home for the day.  If your child develops any of the following symptoms, you will be asked to pick up your child from school.  Children must stay at home until better (no rash, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. for a full 24 hours without using medications to stop those conditions, such as Tylenol or Motrin).  If your pediatrician prescribes an antibiotic to your child for a contagious condition (such as strep throat), the child must be on the antibiotic for 24-hours prior to returning to school.

  • Fever of 100 degrees
  • Excessive coughing
  • Excessive runny nose
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Contagious or undiagnosed rash
  • Red eye(s) with discharge
  • Head lice
  • Not well enough to participate in activities

CLOTHING

Please dress your child in clothing that is easily washable and suitable for play.  Shoes should have rubber soles and completely cover the foot (no open-toe sandals or flip-flops).  We go outside every day, weather permitting, so please send jackets, hats, and mittens for cold days.  All clothing should be labeled for easy identification.

All children need a full change of seasonally appropriate clothing in the classroom.  This means a shirt, pants/shorts, underwear/diaper, and socks.  If your child is toilet-training, it is a good idea to have several changes of clothes available.  AsheBridge Children’s Academy does not provide any extra clothing or diapers.

TOYS & BELONGINGS

Since we provide plenty of toys and activities, toys should not be brought from home unless asked to do so for a special activity.  Books that are relevant to the current classroom theme may be brought to share with the class.  They should be clearly labeled with your child’s name.  Please understand that we cannot be responsible for lost or damaged books or belongings.

ABSENCES & TARDINESS

Please notify us if your child will be late or absent from school.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

We follow the Wake County Public School System for weather-related delays.  If the public schools are closed due to weather conditions, we will make an independent decision for a closing or delay based on actual conditions in Cary.  Closings will be posted on wral.com and televised on WRAL-TV5.

TUITION INFORMATION

Annual non-refundable registration of $75 is due each year and secures your child’s enrollment for the following year.  Registration fees are non-refundable.  Fall registration is first-come-first-serve with currently enrolled students and their siblings having priority.  All tuition payments are processed automatically through Tuition Express.

LATE FEE

Tuition payments are due on the 25th of the month prior to the month for which tuition is due.   A $25.00 late fee will be added to your account if payment is not received (or sufficient funds available for transfer) by 1st of each month.

RETURNED PAYMENTS

All returned ACH/checks, regardless of reason, will have a charge of $35 added to the account.  This is to cover bank service charges and handling fees.

TUITION REDUCTION

The obligation to pay tuition is not dependent upon attendance of the child. Tuition reduction is not offered in the event of child’s absence for any reason, including holidays, closings, inclement weather, emergencies, illness or vacation.  $50 tuition credit is offered to you as a referral bonus when the referred family enrolls in a 5-day program and pays their first month’s tuition.

WITHDRAWAL FROM PROGRAM

In the event that you need to withdraw your child from AsheBridge Children’s Academy, a pre-paid 30-day notice is required.  If you need to reduce the number of days your child attend each week, a pre-paid 30-day notice is also required.

SUMMER BREAK AND EXTENDED HOLIDAY BREAKS

AsheBridge Children’s Academy is open year-round with minimal closings for holidays.  We do not offer tuition reduction or free months during your child’s absence.  Tuition covers your child’s space in the program not the number of days used.  If you would like to withdraw from the program for a period of time, we require a pre-paid 30-day notice (as above).  We cannot guarantee the availability of a spot when you wish to re-enroll, and a new-student registration fee will be due at that time.
